A young boy, Hansi, from the island of Batanta free dives for shells in the extraordinarily rich waters of the Raja Ampat archipelago off Western Papua, Indonesia.
Go to @mattiasklumofficial to meet the funky Carnivorous Nepenthes plants, in Raja Ampat, that derive their nutrients from trapping and consuming animals or protozoans.
The coral reef of Raja Ampat
is one of the richest marine habitats on
Earth. 1550 species of fish including dozens of new species of fish, shrimp, and coral (including two new species of sharks that actually walk on
their fins) have been discovered
in these waters last couple of years.
Definitely a paradise on Earth! Let’s protect Raja Ampat and other fragile realms!! Shot on assignment with @monikaklum , @ansgarklumphotos & @einarklum
