Photo by @jtkerby | A gelada monkey takes in the final seconds of sunlight at the end of the day on the Guassa Plateau. Here, in the central highlands of Ethiopia, temperatures can quickly drop to freezing at night even after a blisteringly hot day. Karl Olov Hedberg, a renowned Swedish botanist, best described this peculiarity of Afro-alpine climate as “summer every day and winter every night.” Perhaps this photo captures autumn then? | Shot on my current assignment for @natgeo alongside fellow photographer @tbfrost.
